PREMIERE: lucidbloom releases video for new single 'Signals in the Skies'

Indie-dream-pop group lucidbloom recently released their new single ‘Signals in the Skies’ and today the music video for the song premieres exclusively on Women In Pop.

A warm, indie-guitar gem with soaring melodies and gorgeously crafted vocal harmonies, it is has an almost ethereal quality as its soundscape builds and incorporates cascading vocals.

Hailing from the Blue Mountains in NSW, the band filmed the music video in and around a warehouse in Lawson, with the industrial setting lending the video a post-civilisation, dystopian feel. The band collaborated with lighting and visual artist SIRCUIT on the video, who custom built, designed and programmed all the lights featured in the video.

“The video is a combination of performance shots with the unique lighting elements, and scenes from around the warehouse, with rusty shipping containers and a 70s series Toyota landcruiser - like a fortified junkyard hide out,” the band say. “We also shot some scenes inside a shipping container to give that sense of claustrophobia/confined space, and the need to urgently break out or escape.  Later in the video you see the band wielding found objects like garden tools and fence pickets as weaponry, to give the sense that something is coming. Whatever that thing is, it needs to be reckoned with…. and it’s really up for interpretation and imagination.”

Less than a year after releasing their first single, lucidbloom are proving to be a band to watch with their dreamy, moody music that will quickly wind its way into your heart. Watch the music video for ‘Signals in the Skies’ exclusively here now before its general release
