Australia’s Mia Wray today releases her new single ‘Nice To Meet Me’ and announces her debut album hi, it’s nice to meet me will be released on 14 March 2025.

Co-written with superstar G Flip and their producer Aidan Hogg, ‘Nice To Meet Me’ is a rocky pop track with a thumping beat, infectious hand claps and a chorus full of delicious melodies and Wray’s soaring vocals. Lyrically the song tells a relatable story of a long term relationship ending and discovering yourself again in the aftermath. ‘I’m crying on the floor for the best / And now I know me more,’ she sings.

“G Flip came back to Melbourne for Christmas and they were like, ‘We want to set up a week of co-writes, do you want to do a couple of days?’,” Wray says of the origin of the song. “I told them the story; I was with my partner and I met this girl. She was just the cherry on top, the final realisation that something was really knocking at the door for me. I needed to answer it. It’s all a bit of a blur, the whole realising that I was probably queer. The first thing I had in my notes was that I felt like I was saying hello to myself for the first time in a really long time. ‘Hi, it’s nice to meet me’ just kept coming up in my brain as a theme. I thought it was cool and unique, I hadn’t really seen that around a lot. It felt right. It was a real slap in the face like, “Oh that’s who I am, that makes sense.’”

‘Nice To Meet Me’ will feature on Wray’s highly anticipated debut album hi, nice to meet me due for release on 14 March 2025. The 12 tracks explore the chaos, confusion and outright euphoria of Wray understanding her true self for the very first time, and cover a wide range of sounds, from indie-folk, soul and all the way through to high energy club pop. The album also includes her previous hits ‘What If’, ‘Tell Her’ and ‘The Way She Moves.’

First releasing music independently in 2014 when she was just 19, Wray released her debut single ‘Work For Me’ in 2020. She has since accumulated millions of streams while achieving high profile support from BBC Radio 1, Molly King and none other than Sir Elton John. She has also toured with major stars Maisie Peters, DMA'S, Vance Joy, The Rubens and The Teskey Brothers.

Wray is the kind of artist that openly dissects her stories and life experiences in her songs and in the process allows you to bond intimately with each song and connect your own story to her words, making her music your own. Bringing both the feels and the beats, Wray is everything you need in a pop star and her debut album is undoubtedly going to be a musical highlight of 2025.
