Griff releases new single 'Miss Me Too'

UK rising star Griff today releases her new single ‘Miss Me Too’, her first new music of 2024 and her first release since her second EP vert1go vol 1 dropped in December.

‘Miss Me Too’ is an anthemic, thumping dance pop track with gorgeous melodies, twinkling synths and the type of rhythmic drums beats that make you want to punch the air with unrestrained joy. The lyrics inject a sense of introspective melancholy into the song as Griff sings of heartbreak, the grieving you go through as you grow into an adult and realise life will never be the same again, and trying to find your way back to yourself. “The empty lanes that I would chase for miles / Cause I felt something / Yeah I felt alive …I miss me / I miss me too.”

“‘Miss Me Too' is about being stuck in this hollow version of yourself after heartbreak and growing up, and wondering where the version of yourself went that once had faith in the world and love,” Griff says. “I wrote this in one of the many little Airbnbs I booked to hide out and write my new music in. I texted Lostboy and SIBA my location (who I worked with on 'Black Hole') and we converted the kitchen/living-room into a studio to write 'Miss Me Too’.”

Griff has steadily become one of the UK’s most promising young artists after winning the Rising Star award at the 2021 Brit Awards. She had a major breakthrough the same year when her single ‘Black Hole’ became her first top 20 hit on the UK charts and her debut mixtape One Foot In Front Of The Other soaring to number 4 on the UK album charts.

An artist in full control of her art, from writing, producing to design, and with an ability to create pop music that is both classically constructed and with multiple experimental flourishes, Griff is is the perfect pop star of her generation. This latest era of her music, from last year’s stunning ‘Vertigo’ to today’s ‘Miss Me Too’ is showing Griff and her music is continuing to evolve and more music from her in 2024 is something to get truly excited about.
