Esha Tewari releases new single 'empty pages' with new EP 'wraith' will be released 1 May.

Rising star Esha Tewari today releases her new single ‘empty pages’ ahead of her national tour of Australia next month.

Written by Tewari and produced by Vitals, ‘empty pages’ sees Tewari continue with the evolution of her sound seen in previous single ‘things i want’. With her signature bedroom indie sound still shining through more elevated production, the song is a pared back indie-folk track with an acoustic guitar and ukulele providing the foundation for Tewari’s layered, emotive vocals as she sings of the guilt she carries after the end of a relationship: ‘Drown the thoughts I spent days trying to forget / Will I see you? / Can you haunt me? / In the next life I'll say I'm sorry.’

"This song means a lot to me,” Tewari says. “It's for anyone that loses someone they love and the regret and guilt that is carried after that. I pay homage to one of my favourite Jeff Buckley songs in this one, I hope people hear the little easter egg!"

‘empty pages’ will feature on Tewari’s third EP wraith which is due to be released on 1 May. The EP will also feature previous singles ‘things i want’ and ‘you were mine’.

“I started writing this EP back in October and it’s the first project that I wrote each song FOR the project,” Tewari said on Instagram. “I think I wrote around 15 songs, probably more, just to cut more than half of them.
This EP is like a mini album, and is so so so so so special to me. I wrote it when I was reminiscing on people that I have loved that aren’t in my life anymore (hence the title ‘wraith’) but I won’t explain too much about what its about because its up to you to choose.”

Ahead of a North American tour in the middle of this year, Tewari will be heading to Australia in April on her second headline tour of the country. The almost sold out tour will start in Sydney in 5 April before wrapping in Adelaide in May.

Only releasing music for just over a year, Tewari has already scored 13 million global streams and is quickly becoming one of her generations most promising talents.
