PREMIERE: Emmagen Rain launches new single 'you and i'
Rising star Emmagen Rain is an artist who can create music across multiple genres authentically, being just as comfortable with contemporary country music as she is with moody electronic pop.
Originally from Murwillumbah, she started performing at age nine, winning the People’s Choice Award at the Tamworth Country Music Festival Busking Championship in 2018, which she followed up in 2020 winning the Tamworth Coca Cola Battle of the Young Stars. That same year she came to national attention on The Voice Australia on team Delta.
Today her new single ‘you and i’ premieres exclusively on Women In Pop before its general release on April 8. The song is a beautiful pop-ballad which portrays the realisation that a relationship has come to end: “You’ve never seen the light / I can’t do nothing right / There’s no hope for you and I” Rain sings in a powerful and emotive vocal.
“‘you and i’ is a breakup song from the perspective of the person doing the breaking up. It’s about admitting it’s over, even though you don’t want it to be,” Rain says.
Now signed to ABC Music, Rain is an artist who has everything it takes to break through to major success and her career is going to be an exciting one to watch as it develops over the coming years. Take a listen now to ‘you and i’ before its official release tomorrow.
