PREMIERE: Thndo launches new single '4EVA'

Australian powerhouse singer and songwriter Thndo releases her first new music of 2023 tomorrow with the single ‘4EVA’, and today you can listen to it exclusively on Women In Pop.

A smooth, mesmerising R&B-soul track with an intriguingly changing soundscape that balances acoustic moments with full-blooded choruses and the chill out, almost trace-like closer. Holding it all together is Thndo’s remarkably honeyed, expressive vocals - surely one of the best voices in Australia - which are brilliantly multi-layered at moments throughout the song, lending a call-and-response feel that harks back to the greatest soul and jazz of the 1960s.

Lyrically the song explores the deep love in a relationship that comes from accepting the many flaws and different versions of self that are inherent in each partner, learning and growing together with every day.

"My last single 'Fall' was about a devastating loss of love and 4EVA is a stark contrast to the last,” Thndo says. “I’ve done a lot of growing up since my first love, and I’ve learned it’s not all butterflies in the stomach and poems, but it’s choosing each other every day through the hardships, life changes and growing up alongside each other. I am so proud to share the next chapter of my forthcoming album."

After first releasing music in 2013, Thndo experience a rebirth with her career in 2022 after becoming a finalist in The Voice Australia. She followed this with the release of the single ‘Fall’, and her Reintroduction Tour across Australia. This month she will take to the stage as part of the ARETHA: A Love Letter to the Queen of Soul performance, with shows across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.

Thndo is nothing short of hypnotic. An incredible vocalist, with the ability to inhabit any genre of music, she is an artist that creates music that hits you straight away and never lets go.
