PREMIERE: Abbey Lane lauches debut single 'Hypnotised'
Sydney based Abbey Lane releases her debut single ‘Hypnotised’ tomorrow, however today you can listen to it exclusively here on Women In Pop.
The song is an addictive electronica track that expertly blends light and shade, with an acoustic verse that gradually build into a full-blooded chorus with swirling synths and sublime melodies that only get stronger as the song progresses.
"With a lot of my songs leaning toward lyrics about heartbreak, I really wanted to write a song about connection,” Lane says of the song. “I posted my first self demo of the track to my social media last year and had such a positive reaction, which was super encouraging to know this song resonated with so many people! I really wanted to write a song with an anti-chorus, so the rest of the song was created around that idea. It took heaps of experimenting with different lyrics and melodies before I eventually found the one that I loved.”
Inspired by artists such as Vera Blue, Eves Karydas and Nicole Millar, Lane has won a number of songwriting contests over the past five years and has been performing live for the past 8 years featuring on lineups with Tyne JamesOrgan, Diesel, Polish Club and I Know Leopard. With such a strong and accomplished debut, Abbey Lane is proving to be an extremely promising artist and her future releases should be something to get excited about.
