Kita Alexander releases new single 'Press Pause' ahead of supporting Dua Lipa on her Australian tour

Australian singer songwriter Kita Alexander today releases her first new music of 2025 with the summery pop track ‘Press Pause’.
The guitar driven, indie tinged pop song has a swinging beat with Alexander’s gorgeous vocal gently pulling you into her world, with its understated power conveying both urgency and a dreamy warmth. The lyrics tell of providing support to someone who is struggling with their mental health: ‘When you’re falling apart / Feel safe in my arms / I’ll look after your heart…I’d press pause on all the things you’re thinking’.
“‘Press Pause’ is about the quiet power of being present for someone when their world feels like it’s falling apart,” Alexander says. “It’s not about fixing things or promising it’ll all be okay — it’s about holding space, staying still, and letting them know they’re not alone in the chaos.”
‘Press Pause’ comes off the back of the news that Alexander will be supporting global superstar Dua Lipa on her sold out Australian and New Zealand tour in March and April. The tour will start on 17 March in Melbourne with five shows, followed by three shows in Sydney and two in Auckland.
“Touring with Dua is something that has been on my mind for a very long time. She delivers pure energy on stage and next-level pop performances. March and April is going to be such a party,” Alexander says. “I truly feel so lucky to have the opportunity to share my songs with fans, old and new, across Australia and New Zealand.”
Releasing music since 2013, Alexander has accumulated over 300 million global streams, two Australian Gold singles, one platinum single, one double platinum single, and has received four ARIA Award nominations. Last year she released her debut album Young In Love, embarked on a sold out headline tour across Australia and also supported US star Madison Beer on her Australian tour. Alongside supporting Dua Lipa, this year she will also perform at The Great Escape festival in the UK and perform a headline show at The Camden Assembly, London on 20 May.
