Jessica Mauboy launches official Australian song of the 2024 Paris Olympics 'Higher'

Jessica Mauboy has launched her new single ‘Higher’, which is the official song for the Australian team competing at the 2024 Olympics.
Written by Shannon Busch, who is also a artist who performs under the name Wilsn, and Stephen Mowat, and produced by Mowat and Will Hyde, the song is fittingly an anthemic, inspirational pop power ballad which Mauboy’s always gorgeous voice infuses with heart and emotion. ‘Show me you're a fighter / And even if we fall / We’re burning with a fire that won’t fade away,’ she sings.
“It’s an absolute honour to lend my voice in support of our incredible Aussie athletes,” Mauboy says. “‘Higher’ captures the spirit and energy of our amazing team, and I know I speak for all Aussies when I say we are thrilled to celebrate their dedication, passion, and the pride they bring to us all."
Chair of the Australian Olympic Committee and four-time Olympian Cate Campbell adds, “Lyrically it speaks to the reality of an Olympian’s path to the Games and melodically, it’s a killer track. It’s uplifting and a great chorus – I can just see our Olympic athletes in Paris belting this out, some better than others.”
Alongside the release of the song, Mauboy will also be travelling to Paris for the 2024 Olympics where she will perform ‘Higher’ on 24 July at the launch of the Australian Olympic Committee's Flag Bearer Ceremony, held at the French Mint. She will also perform at the Australian Olympic team’s homecoming ceremony, broadcast live on Channel Nine, on August 14.
‘Higher’ comes off the back of the release of Mauboy’s first album in five years, Yours Forever, which she dropped in February and peaked in the Australian ARIA Albums Chart top 10. The ensuring 23 date Yours Forever national tour sold out, and Mauboy has recently contributed vocals to the latest single from 3%, ‘Won’t Stop’, out now. In the coming months Mauboy will continue the Yours Forever Tour with shows at The Palms, Crown Melbourne, on 20 and 21 September, and at The Manly Barracks on October 5.
