Jessica Mauboy returns with new single 'Right Here Right Now'

Australian superstar Jessica Mauboy returns today with her new single ‘Right Here Right Now’, her first new music for close to a year.

Fresh from her performance at World Pride alongside Charli XCX and Kylie Minogue, Mauboy wrote ‘Right Here Right Now’ with frequent collaborators David Musumeci and Anthony Egizii of DNA. It is a glorious, uplifting blast of pop music that brings in hefty doses of disco and funk. Lyrically, it is an empowering anthem to embracing everything you are and do with no apologies.

“‘Right Here Right Now’ is about being present and embracing all your qualities and accepting who you are,” Mauboy says. “We try to be perfect, but at the end of the day, it’s a statement, you’ve turned up with all that you are and you’re ready, embracing and celebrating all of you! The only thing we can control in life is our present, and it’s a song that’s about finding peace and joy through accepting where you are now and leaning into it.”

Mauboy has been one of Australia’s most loved performers since her breakthrough in 2006 on Australian Idol. One of the country’s most talented and versatile performers, with 23 top 40 singles to her name her music has explored pop, R&B, soulful ballads and since 2021 she is exploring the full breadth of dance music, from the slinky ‘Glow’, to the soul-funk of last year’s ‘Automatic’. ‘Right Here Right Now’ adds an exciting new chapter to Mauboy’s music career and proves exactly why she has had us mesmerised for the past 15 years.
