Jessica Mauboy drops new single 'Give You Love' and announces her fifth studio album 'Yours Forever' will be released next February
Beloved Australian superstar Jessica Mauboy today releases her new single ‘Give You Love’, a duet with her fellow The Voice Australia judge Jason Derulo, and announces her fifth studio album Yours Forever will be released on February 9 2024.
The first taste of her new body of work, Mauboy worked with singer-songwriter WILSN on the ‘Give You Love’. It is a brilliant, uplifting pop anthem that overflows with soul and touches of gospel and leaves you with an overwhelming sense of joy. Lyrically it tells of always being there for someone else, giving them the support they need to get through the hard times.
“The collaboration came together quite magically, like beautiful, glistening, crystal-clear water flowing together,” Mauboy says. “When we sent the song to WILSN and she heard my voice on the track for the first time, she burst into tears. What we’re able to give back says so many things about where we’ve come from and where we want to go moving forward. This song is a helping hand when you need it the most. When you need gratitude, when you need grounding, when you need waking up, and when you need love: this song is here.”
The song features on Mauboy's upcoming new 14 track album Yours Forever. Exploring themes of love, hope, heartbreak and resilience the album was written and recorded in Australia and reflect’s Mauboy’s journey of self-discovery in a way she says she has never shared before.
“Yours Forever is me at my truest self, comfortable in my skin, not comparing myself or trying to be someone or something that anyone expects me to be,” she says. “When you strip it all back, musically it’s beautiful melodies, storytelling lyrics, rhythms that connect with the soul, and it has a depth that I’ve never gone to or shared before. At the heart of the record, I wanted to share my experience of unpacking challenging times that we all come up against in life. For me, it was feelings of not being worthy, and coming to a place of knowing, a confirmation that I am enough”.
Alongside the release of Yours Forever in 2024, Mauboy today also announces she will be embarking on a national tour throughout March, April and May next year, including a performance in Auckland, New Zealand in May. General public ticket will go on sale on August 14 at 10:00am AEST. More information and tickets can be found here.
