JADE has started her 2025 year with a bang with the release of her new single ‘IT girl’, a song she has been teasing since last year.

Written by JADE with Cirkut and Lostboy (Charli XCX, Lady Gaga), ‘IT girl’ is a sassy, brash electropop song with JADE switching between spoken word and gentler sung sections. The track connects back to her debut single ‘Angel of My Dreams’, confronting JADE’s conflicting feelings towards the music industry: ‘Sign on the line for me / Baby smile but don't show your teeth / Say goodbye to autonomy / Now your body belongs to me’ but this time JADE claps back: ‘I'm not your thing / I'm not your baby doll / No puppet on a string / This bitch can't be controllеd.’

"‘IT girl’ is the cunty little sister to 'Angel of My Dreams',” JADE says. “There’s still so much that people don’t know about me, so I was eager to surprise people and poke the bear a bit. I have to write about what my experiences are. I’m not going to sugarcoat it. This is my reality.”

‘IT girl’ is Jade’s fourth single since she launched her solo career in July last year, after 11 years of being part of Little Mix, one of the world’s most successful all female bands. Her first single ‘Angel of My Dreams’ cemented her as one of the biggest names in pop right now, with its genius, quirky left of centre sound shooting it to number 7 in the UK, and ending up on multiple Best Of 2024 lists, including Women In Pop. She followed it with promotional single ‘Midnight Cowboy’, and then the disco funk of ‘Fantasy’, with a music video directed by David LaChappelle.

With more music planned this year, JADE looks set to continue her run as one of pop’s most innovative, magnetic and brilliant artists in 2025.
