Rachael Fahim signs with Island Records and releases new single 'Dance Around It'

Australian country pop artist Rachael Fahim today releases her new single ‘Dance Around It’, her first release after signing to major global label Island Records.
The track is a perfect representation of country pop with a core of country swagger and sonics alongside traditional pop production and beats. It showcases Fahim’s beautifully flexible vocals which are powerful but also retain a vulnerability tinged with an emotive huskiness.
The song and Fahim’s upcoming music look at an intense Covid 19 relationship that over 18 months went from all-consuming lockdown bliss to confusion and protracted heartbreak.
“When I first started performing my new material live, it was exciting and embarrassing, I’d introduce a bunch of sad and savage songs, and only one love song, all about the same guy, so I guess it makes sense that relationship ended,” Fahim says. “‘Dance Around It’ is a song that not only told my story, but sonically it fits where country music is right now. It’s a song about a situationship where you’re too scared to discuss your feelings for fear it will ruin everything, so you simply dance around it! I’m so excited to be back with new music and to be touring so extensively."
The release of ‘Dance Around It’ comes just as Fahim embarks on a tour across Australia and New Zealand with label mate Dean Lewis on his The Epilogue World Tour. A seasoned and experienced performer, Fahim has played over 600 gigs, including SXSW USA and CMC Rocks festivals, and winning the Tamworth Country Music Festival’s Toyota Star Maker Award in 2017. She has gone on to achieve five Australian Country Radio number 1 singles and streams in the millions.
Since last releasing music two years ago, Fahim has been writing and recording music in Los Angeles, Nashville, and Sydney, collaborating with some of the heavyweights of the industry, including Alex Borel and Colin Foote (Dean Lewis), Robby De Sa (MAY-A, The Veronicas) and Liam Quinn (Peach PRC, Ruel).
Fahim’s music verges on country pop perfection, neither leaning too far in one direction or relying on cliches from either genre to make its point. It is also relatable and a blast to listen to and as she opens this next era in her music she is in the best form of her career. Dive in now.
