PREMIERE: Melanie Dyer launches video for new single 'Cheap Moscato'

Country-pop singer songwriter Melanie Dyer recently released her first new music of 2022 with the single ‘Cheap Moscato’. Co-written and co-produced by Dyer, the song is an effervescent track which tells the story of a relationship that develops after imbibing a bottle of cheap wine. Like everything Dyer does, it expertly combines both country and pop sensibilities creating an addictive 3 minutes of joy that is hard to resist.
Today the music video for ‘Cheap Moscato’ premieres exclusively on Women In Pop before its general release tomorrow. Produced and directed by Dyer alongside Jackson James, the video was shot in her new home town of Port Macquarie and highlights two locations in the town. “The apartment is The Arthouse Loft, a stunning eclectic space full of art and charm and the bar scene is a place called Stick, a super quirky boutique bar,” Dyer explains.
“I have always had a clear vision for what the music video should look like for ‘Cheap Moscato’,” Dyer says on making the video. “Being an articulate storytelling song, it was important to capture the imagery and sequence of events to match the lyrics. I came together with Jackson James to create a series of flashbacks where we retrace my steps the morning after a night of flirty fun that began with ‘one bottle of cheap moscato’. Jackson, being DOP, brought his photography background to compose beautifully aesthetic shots, highlighting the daytime to night time light transitions and important details in the apartment scenes. Being co-producer of this clip was a first for me and hugely rewarding. Everything from choosing shoot locations to styling, direction and editing was between the two of us and I'm really proud of the end result.”
