Sydney based electro-indie-pop singer-songwriter and showgirl Lou P Scarlett describes her music as “if Marilyn Monroe and the Spice Girls were to have a love child,” and today her new single ‘Watching’ premieres exclusively on Women In Pop.
Full of synths, industrial bass and an insanely catchy chorus that quickly becomes an ear worm, the track is set in a dystopian future where technology has taken over our lives and “obsessive voyeurism is at its peak, sentient artificial intelligence is assimilated and video surveillance reaches every corner of the planet.”
With a background that involves burlesque as well as music, Scarlett was the second runner up in Miss Burlesque 2018 and started releasing music the year after with the electropop track ‘Stay Still’, followed by ‘Life Together’ and ‘Nanny State’, with drips with 1980s synth-new wave sonics and attitude, last year.
With her unique take on electro-synth-pop and the stunning visuals that accompany her music, Lou P Scarlett is an artist with multiple appeal and although she is only so new to the music scene, there is a spark and confidence to her music that promises really great things to come.
‘Watching’ is out on Friday August 13 but today you can listen to it exclusively on Women In Pop below. Tune in now!
