PREMIERE: Clara Fable's 'Jennifer's Body' video
Sydney based singer-songwriter Clara Fable released her first music of 2021 ‘Jennifer’s Body’ last week and today the music video premieres exclusively on Women In Pop.
Inspired by the movie of the same name and Fable’s love of horror movies, the song is an addictive slab of electropop with dark, brooding undercurrents perfect for a late night dancefloor. The video, directed by Felicity Heath who also directed the video for Fable’s previous single ‘Cherry Ripe’, shows off Fable’s acting skills and continues with the horror movie theme, featuring one of the most hypnotic - and camp - exorcisms you are ever likely to see.
“‘Jennifer’s Body’ is about having someone sweep you off your feet but being caught off guard by the feeling,” Fable says. “Lyrically it’s a play on the game of love, conveyed with spook and sass! The video is a homage to the classic film, including an exorcism full of glam, goth, camp and all things Clara Fable. It’s the purgatory pop anthem with a dash of dread you'll have stuck in your head!”
Fable has worked in music for some time including time spent at Universal Studios in Japan and performing as a guest singer in Las Vegas as part of the Bad Wolves/Five Finger Death Punch tour, with her first single ‘Nosferatu’ released last year.
Listing Kim Petras, Robyn, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry as some her musical inspirations, Clara Fable creates divine pop music that is pleasingly unique whilst remaining utterly accessible. Expect a lot more from Fable throughout 2021, but for now enjoy the music video for ‘Jennifer’s Body’ exclusively on Women In Pop before its general release.
