Australian electronic-synth band miramar today release their first music of the year with the single ‘Work It Out’.

The song is a delicious electropop tune with sparkling synths, an addictive beat and the occasional slide into trance that keeps you firmly on the dancefloor - either in reality or just in your own kitchen.

The joy of the soundscape is leant a shade of melancholy with lyrics that delve into the importance of taking a step back from difficult situations and realising everything will eventually work out: ‘We’ll find a way to work it out…I want to fix it but I don’t know how’.

“The lyrics are a really vulnerable, personal story of taking a minute during a fight with someone you love to remember that you still love them and you’ll get through it,” miramar reveal. “It’s a conversation we had to have with ourselves about music as well. There’s been many times we were burnt out and needed to remind ourselves that we love it and need to keep going - we’re actually doing okay and we’re going to make it work.. We originally wrote the song while we were still in a bit of a burnout spiral. When we finally went to finish it, we were coming out the other side of that, so it ended up a much more hopeful and optimistic song which we love.”

‘Work It Out’ is the second single to be released from miramar’s upcoming second EP, due for release later this year. It follows the November release of ‘In The Morning’, another electro-synth delight, which earned airplay on Triple J and FBI among others.

Comprising Rosh Yau (vocals), Sam Langley (producer), and Matt Sampson (producer), miramar formed when the members met at university in Sydney after all relocating there from regional towns. They released their first single in 2021 and as well as releasing music they have fostered a community on the electronic scene by launching Club Miramar, a live-electronic series to showcase local artists, which has spanned club nights, residencies, and DJ sets.
