Miley Cyrus releases new tracks from hotly anticipated ninth studio album 'Something Beautiful'

Superstar Miley Cyrus has released the first taste of her eagerly anticipated ninth studio album Something Beautiful - the two singles ‘Prelude’ and ‘Something Beautiful’, with the teaser for the third single ‘End of The World’ also dropping today. Watch all the videos below.

‘Prelude’ lives up to its title and is an atmospheric, moody, experimental track with a spoken word performance from Cyrus over a discordant electronic soundscape that raises more questions that it answers.

‘Something Beautiful’ also veers on the experimental side of pop, beginning as a sultry, classic jazz tune before erupting into bursts of brash sound akin to heavy metal with distorted vocals, before transforming back into a chilled, smooth jazz bar tune to which Cyrus’s husky vocal is the perfect fit.

The third reveal from Something Beautiful was also released today, a 20 second clip of the next single ‘End Of The World’ due to be released on 4 April AEDT. With a more traditional ‘Miley Cyrus’ sound, it is a pop-rock song with the teaser hinting at pianos and touches of 1970s glam rock. From what we know so far the lyrics could be a personal statement, or an evaluation of the world we live in today: ‘Let’s pretend it’s not the end of the world.’

Something Beautiful the album features 13 tracks and will be released on 30 May. It will be accompanied by a visual film premiering in June. Directed by Cyrus, Jacob Bixenman, and Brendan Walter, fashion is a central theme and it features the largest loan of Thierry Mugler archival pieces ever granted to a single individual, alongside rare designs from Jean Paul Gaultier, custom Alexander McQueen, and Alaïa.

Something Beautiful is Cyrus’s first solo new music since her globally domineering 2023 album Endless Summer Vacation. It will see Cyrus continue to push artistic and sonic boundaries and showcases her ever evolving talent in what is sure to be one of 2025’s greatest album releases.
