Rising Star Lil Halima releases new single 'Hold Me'
Rising Norwegian singer-songwriter Lil Halima today releases her new single ‘Hold Me’. It is the first release from her second EP, the three-track for the dark days due out on February 22.
The follow-up to Halima’s outstanding debut EP from last year, love songs for bad lovers, ‘Hold Me’ showcases her remarkable talents as not only a vocalist but also as a producer, sharing co-producing credits on the track with George Moore.
A gorgeous melting pot of sounds, ‘Hold Me’ vibes on electro, R&B and pop with hints of tribal and trip-hop. Like much of Halima’s work, the track is personal, vulnerable, intimate and very relatable. “I don’t want to feel so alone” she yearns at the beginning of the track. “I just need someone to hold my hand.” Halima says of the song: “[It may} seem like a very dark song, but in many ways what I’m trying to say is that nothing is wrong with me, I just need a hand to hold on to and in this case, it should’ve been my own.”
for the dark days is to be followed by another EP later this year, with the three releases designed to be a series that offer a conceptual take on her life in northern Norway, which goes through a winter of endless darkness followed by summers of constant sunlight. Stay tuned for more on Lil Halima’s next releases on Women In Pop.
