Anne-Marie releases new single 'SAD B!TCH'
British superstar Anne-Marie has released her first new track of 2023, ‘Sad B!tch’, the follow up to her 2022 smash hit ‘Psycho’, which has accumulated over 62 million streams on Spotify alone.
Produced by and co-written with Evan Blair (Dove Cameron) and BillenTed (Little Mix), rising new talent UPSAHL also co-wrote the track. It is a witty, gritty reclamation of your own life and power after struggling through difficult times: “This is boring, so annoying / Time to turn the page / Being sad is so last year, I'm over it,” she sings. Sonically, it is made up of a little bit of pop, a little bit of R&B and a little bit of grime with a beat you can both move to as well as scream out all your frustrations to.
“Sad B!tch is a song about not being sad anymore,” Anne-Marie says. “Whether you’ve had a break-up, lost someone, you’re feeling down or just hate your boss. It’s time for happiness. It’s time for a change of plan. Time to put yourself first. Time to turn the page. Leave it behind and start again. A new chapter, a new storyline. A new you.”
After first releasing music in 2015, Anne-Marie has grown into one of the UK’s biggest musical stars. Scoring a massive global hit in 2016 with Clean Bandit on the song ‘Rockabye’, she has scored seven UK top 10 hits and 10 nominations at the Brit Awards. Last year was one of her biggest years to date, selling out a headline tour, returning as head coach on The Voice UK and winning the Music Award at Glamour Magazine’s Women of the Year Awards in November.
Currently working on her third studio album set for release later this year, 2023 is going to be another year of incredible music from Anne-Marie.
