Amy Shark releases new single 'C'MON'

Australian singer-songwriter Amy Shark has today released her new single ‘C’MON’, featuring Travis Barker from Blink-182.

As we have come to expect from Shark, ‘C’MON’ is a searingly honest, raw and moving track which explores the highs and lows of being a professional musicians with Shark reaching out for help and forgiveness. “Lately I've been losing, letting people down a lot / Cutting all the corners, standing on shoulders / Drowning everyone so I can get to the top / All of these things I would like to stop…C'mon, help me up one more time,” she sings.

Sonically, the song is a swaying, indie pop anthem that starts off with a gentle piano line before Barker’s drums kick in and the song builds into a more dramatic track, with Shark’s impassioned vocals soar fully encapsulating the emotion of feeling lost and alone in the lyrics.

Produced by her long-time collaborators Dann Hume & M-Phazes, Shark reached out to Barker to join the track after developing a strong relationship with Blink-182 over the years (she had previously teamed up with the band’s bassist and singer Mark Hoppus on her 2018 single ‘Psycho’). Of the collaboration Shark says: “It’s quite surreal to have the drummer from one of my all-time favourite bands playing on one of my songs. It didn’t take much convincing for him to jump on board. He genuinely loved the song and took ‘C’MON’ to another level!”

Also released today it the video for ‘C’MON’, directed by James Chappell. Filmed in an abandoned building and also featuring Barker, it is an atmospheric, eye-catching accompaniment to the song.

Amy Shark has proven to one of Australia’s premier artists after her breakthrough in 2016 with the single ‘Adore' and her 2018 number one album Love Monster. As she prepares to release her upcoming second album, with music as good as ‘C’MON’ it is clear Shark is set to remain one of Australia’s favourite singers.
