New Single from HAIZ 'Talking Sh*t' released today
London singer-songwriter HAIZ today releases her second single 'Talking Sh*t'. It is the follow-up to her debut single, last year's dark-synth gem 'Betrayed'.
Co-written and produced with HAIZ's long term collaborator Alex Bakker, HAIZ says she was inspired to write 'Talking Sh*t' after she was lied to by someone she trusted. "I knew the truth," she told Women In Pop "and they made me doubt myself by telling me to 'get over it' when it was a big deal for me."
A more straight forward pop track than 'Betrayed', 'Talking Sh*t' mixes classic HAIZ synth grooves with a stripped back tribal beat and an simple but addictive chorus which will probably be the only time in your life you will be glad to have the words 'when you talk, you're talking shit' swirling around yor head.
Like her debut release, 'Talking Sh*t' is a remarkably well developed pop song from such a young, fully independent artist. HAIZ has a talent for pulling together pop music that is timeless in its quality while retaining a throughly contempory edge which is nothing but of its time. It is a talent we hope will go a long way in the coming years.
Expect more singles from HAIZ this year thanks to an overly productive year in the studio. "I've written enough songs to release a lifetime supply of albums!" she says. "I'm a perfectionist though. I just want everything to be perfect before I release a full length album."
