Superstar Jennie releases new single 'Mantra'

Published: 11 October 2024

Global superstar Jennie of pop icons Blackpink has launched the next stage of her solo career with the release of the new single ‘Mantra’. It is her debut release on her own label Odd Atelier in partnership with Columbia Records.

Written by Jennie with a range writers including fellow singers Zikai and Claudia Valentina, ‘Mantra’ is a highly addictive, thumping electronic pop song with a heavy dose of R&B and moments that lean into rap with Jennie’s rapid fire delivery.

Lyrically the song speaks of female solidarity and living life with full confidence in yourself. ‘We ain't never let it ruin a good time / Ain't nobody gonna dim our good light / This them words we're living by’ she sings. After appearing at the Chanel Spring 2025 show at Paris Fashion Week last week Jennie told Vogue Mantra was “a fun, upbeat anthem that celebrates girl power and inspires every woman to shine in her own way with confidence”.

After breaking records since 2016 and becoming one of the most influential woman in pop as part of Blackpink, Jennie’s latest musical chapter as head of her own record label and entertainment company is looking to be her most empowering yet. With the brilliance of ‘Mantra’, Jennie is proving her musical genius as a solo artist and it augurs well for her upcoming releases into 2025.

‘Mantra’ is out now via Odd Atelier/Columbia Records/Sony Music Australia. You can buy and steam here.
