Samantha Jade launches new single 'Dance Again'
Australian favourite Samantha Jade has returned with her new single ‘Dance Again’, her first new music in almost a year and also her first release as an independent artist.
Written by Jade and produced by Liam Quinn (Rita Ora, Keith Urban), ‘Dance Again’ is a gorgeous, uplifting pop ballad that encourages us to always find the positive no matter how rough life gets. A stirring beat melds with hypnotic melodies, choral backing vocals and a remarkable, powerful and emotive vocal performance from Jade. Lyrically the song is also an apt metaphor for the return of live music and dancing as the world emerges from the last two years of pandemic enforced lockdowns. “If you brave the storm you'll reach a rainbow / And you'll fly and you'll feel alive…and you’re gonna dance again,” she sings.
“For me, dancing is such a pure form of expression. The music, the lyrics and the movement all come together to create a combined energy. These past few years I’ve really missed performing in front of my fans and feeling that energy,” Jade says. “Life doesn’t always go to plan. This song reminds us to look for the positives so we can keep going, bring back the joy and find a way to dance again.”
Ever since winning The X-Factor Australia in 2012 Jade has become one of Australia’s most loved entertainer. She has also proven she is an exceptionally versatile recording artist, with the ability to authentically inhabit a number of different genres and styles of music, equally comfortable with experimental pop such as ’Circles on the Water’, R&B with ‘In The Morning’ or lush balladry with ‘Back 2 Back’. Now an independent artist for the first time such she started in music aged just 17, Jade is opening up a new chapter in her career that is looking like it will be her most empowering - and exciting - yet. “It is really nice to feel like you own your craft,” Jade told The Daily Telegraph. “I am for once listening to my own voice and that has been drowned out for a while now, not due to other people but due to myself and not backing. myself. This time is really fun because I am not really answering to anybody. It is inspiring.”
