British breakthrough artist Rachel Chinouriri has released a revamped version of her 2022 single ‘All I Ever Asked’, now featuring New York born, LA raised artist Sombr.

The song is a gentle, summery pop track with elements of indie and synthpop and a gorgeous chorus that soars into a thing of true beauty. The sweetness of the music is tempered by a sense of melancholy in the lyrics as Chinouriri sings of a breakup and realising your own worth: ‘I wanna find if you're the problem or the purpose / Cause it's borderline / Never know if you're sorry for what you said.’

“I have always loved ‘All I Ever Asked’ and the journey that it’s taken me on,” Chinouriri says. “Sombr has added such an amazing light and joy to the song and I’m so unbelievably excited for everyone to hear it. His tone, writing and style has always been so cool and I’m so happy he wanted to be a part of it.”

“I was in a cafe on the Lower East Side when I first heard ‘All I Ever Asked’,” Sombr says. “It was like a ray of sunshine, and I loved it so much. Rachel is such an amazingly talented writer and performer, and I was so excited by the opportunity to be a part of this beautiful record.”

After first releasing music back in 2018, 2024 was a major breakout year for Chinouriri. She released her debut album What a Devastating Turn of Events which received critical acclaim and peaked at number 17 on the UK Albums Chart with the single ‘Never Need Me’ named one of Women In Pop’s 10 Best Tracks of 2025. Later this year an exclusive white vinyl LP of What A Devastating Turn Of Events will be released to celebrate the album’s first anniversary. It will be released on 2 May 2025 and is available to pre-order now.

The success of the album saw Chinouriri receive two nominations at this year’s Brit Awards - Artist of the Year and Best New Artist - with the ceremony taking place on 1 March. Following the Awards, Chinouriri will support Sabrina Carpenter on her sold out 2025 UK and Europe Short N’ Sweet tour throughout March.

Teaming deeply personal and relatable lyrics with a soundscape that melds pop, rock and indie, plus a vocal that is enormously powerful and moving through its nuanced gentleness, Chinouriri is an absolutely captivating artist who is truly coming into her own. This revamped version of ‘All I Ever Asked’ is a tantalising reminder of her brilliance and makes us even more excited for more new music to come from her.
