PREMIERE: Aeora returns with single 'Freedom'
Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Aeora releases her third single ‘Freedom’ on Thursday 3rd December, but today we premiere the song on Women In Pop where you can listen to it exclusively before its general release.
Aeora has been creating music since she was 10 and initially performed country and folk music as a teenager. At 19, she made the switch to electronic music and began producing her own songs on her laptop. She released a clutch of singles from 2016 onwards and performed gigs across the world, including Sydney, Melbourne and Montreal. In 2018, she chose to take time away from music and didn't return until earlier this year, with the singles ‘Give It’ and ‘Breathe’.
Sonically, ‘Freedom’ further’s Aeora’s journey in electronica, starting out as a chilled out, semi-acoustic track before slowly building in intensity and breaking out into a jittery, pulsing chorus that is all encompassing as Aeora sings ‘Even without lovers / I feel stronger for you / Maybe it’s freedom holding us in two’ in her powerful, soulful and stirring voice.
Continuing to create unique and dynamic music, Aeora’s growth as an artist since her return to the scene has been a joy and we for one are looking forward to her future releases.
