Lara Andallo returns with new single 'Obsessed'
Australia’s rising R&B superstar Lara Andallo today returns with new single ‘Obsessed’. It is her first new music since the release of her debut EP Diamonds & Dejavu at the beginning of this year.
Co-written with UK rapper/producer Ebenezer ‘Obsessed’ is a smooth R&B-pop track with an electronic background that twinkle, buzzes and swoops in, adding drama to the track as Andallo’s vocal glides over the irresistible melodies. It is a brilliant mix of traditional R&B with pop as well as nightclub ready dance vibes.
“I wanted to release a song that’s gonna be people’s summer anthem. I want people to be dancing & sweating in the club to this record all summer long,” Andallo says. “I started this song on my last day in LA before heading to the airport. I pulled up on Ebenezer and we both just knew we had something golden with this one. Once I got home I knew I had to finish it with Hugh Lake, one of my main producers in Australia.”
‘Obsessed’ is the first in a string of new music Andallo plans to release into 2024, and comes just before she heads out on tour across Australia and New Zealand with American R&B star Kiana Lede from next week. Next March, Andallo will be performing at the Souled Out Festival, which will tour across Australia, and is notably the only Australian female act on the lineup.
Ever since she first released music in 2019, Andallo has been touted as the next big thing in Australian R&B, and it is easy to see why. She creates classic R&B sounds infused with pop that brings to mind some of the greatest artists in the genre, whilst also remaining utterly unique with the undefinable but gorgeous Andallo stamp. With attitude to burn and a compelling stage presence, in a country where the R&B genre is still growing, Andallo has delivered the template for every female artist that comes after her. With the release of ‘Obsessed’, this new chapter in her music is proving she is just getting better and more powerful with every release, and 2024 is shaping up to be her biggest year yet.
