Janelle Monáe releases new single 'Lipstick Lover' and announces new album 'The Age Of Pleasure' will be out in June

Janelle Monáe, one of music’s foremost creative visionaries, has released her new single ‘Lipstick Lover’ and has announced her fourth studio album The Age of Pleasure will be released on June 9.

The follow up to the March single ‘Float’, which has racked up over 5 million Spotify streams, ‘Lipstick Lover’ is a swaggering, hypnotic R&B track with a hint of reggae and lush, 60s tinged pop melodies as Monáe’s vocal’s soar into the chorus. Lyrically, it is a sexy, steamy ode to grabbing a moment of intimacy with your crush: “Baby I'm obsessed, get me undressed / I wanna feel your lips on mine.”

“As we enter into The Age of Pleasure, ‘Lipstick Lover’ is our freeassmothafucka anthem inspired by f.a.m. for f.a.m. This is our oasis made with love, rooted in self acceptance, throbbing in self discovery, and signed with cherry red kisses from me to you,” Monáe says.

Nominated for 8 Grammy Awards, her last two albums peaked in the top 10 on the US Billboard album charts as well as charting across the world. Alongside music, she has made multiple appearance in film, television and theatrical productions as well as being an unfailing ally for the LGBTQIA+ community and social justice.
