Eliott returns with exquisite new single 'Home'

Eliott today releases her second single of 2020 with ‘Home’, the follow up to April’s ‘Circles’. A beautifully emotive track about the importance of home and family, it is a track that strongly resonates with the mood of 2020.

‘Home’ was written with Chris Collins in the wake of Eliott returning to Australia after months of touring and writing sessions around the world. A gently rolling pop song with elements of country and an insistent beat, the song was written and recorded long before hard lockdowns were enforced in Eliott’s home state of Victoria but is none the less an fitting anthem for the times we live in and is perfectly timed as life slowly returns to normal in Victoria. “I think there are so many people at the moment who are away from their home, and haven’t seen their family in months,” Eliott says of the song. “I think it’ll really connect with people because of that, but I also hope it makes people take a step back and reflect on the special times they’ve had with their families and really appreciate it.”

The music video, also filmed pre-lockdown, also has a strong link to family and was filmed in Eliott’s hometown of Cobram and was the first time she had seen her family in months. The video shows her family’s reaction listening to the song for the very first time and reacting to the verses in the song that are dedicated to each of them. Filming was not surprisingly an emotional experience and Eliott says "There’s a moment when my mother breaks down into tears, listening to me sing about my relationship with my father and siblings, and how very much my mum keeps it all together."

Since first releasing music in 2017, Eliott has produced a string of singles, performed support slots for artists such as Dean Lewis and Matt Corby, and gained songwriting credits for Montaigne. With over 10 million streams to her name, she has garnered a reputation for creating warm, honest music that connects directly with the soul. With her latest releases being some of her strongest yet, this new stage in Eliott’s career is shaping up to one of her most exciting yet and we can’t wait to hear more.
