Callie Reiff teams up with Lenii for 'The Kids Are All Rebels 2.0' single release

Today New York-based producer and artist Callie Reiff releases ‘The Kids Are All Rebels 2.0’, a collaborative remix with Irish artist/producer Lenii.

‘The Kids Are All Rebels’ was originally released by Cork, Ireland, native Lenii late in 2020 after becoming a viral hit on TikTok. Written after Lenii watched the US presidential debate, she wrote a rap verse calling out the unbalanced systems America is built on and posted it on TikTok. After just a couple of days the single verse had attracted over 1.3 million views, prompting Lenii to release a second verse, and after overwhelming requests from fans she released the full song in October.

Exploring the climate emergency, covid-19 response, police brutality, racism and misogyny in the US under the Trump administration, the song instantly resonated with Callie Reiff who reached out to Lenii to collaborate. The result sees the song take on a brooding, electro, club vibe while retaining its unique, glitchy indie soul alongside its important message: ‘Feeling kinda helpless while they fuck us / Then they tell us that we're the ones causing a scene / Maybe that's just what we need.’

Callie Reiff is an artist who has packed a lot into her 21 years. An accomplished producer, performer and DJ, at 15 she became the youngest DJ to perform at New York’s Webster Hall and has since gone on open for acts including Ed Sheehan, Deadmau5 and Skrillex as well as remixing for artists including Alison Wonderland and Sofi Tukker. 2021 will see Reiff relaunch her solo project with a number of singles alongside an EP due later in the year. Transitioning to the role of singer/songwriter, whilst retaining her roots as a producer/DJ is a step Reiff is excited to take. “I’ve been producing since I was around 16 and been patient with trying different genres, sounds, ideas,” she says. “I feel the most proud of the music that is yet to come out, it feels right and feels like what I’ve always wanted my music to sound like.”
