Young Australian talent bella amor today returns with her new single ‘rocks in my pocket’, her first new music in just over a year.
Written with fellow artists Yorke and Alice Ivy, and produced by Ivy, ‘rocks in my pockets’ is a bubbly, jangly delight of pop, indie and alternative with some gorgeous, soaring vocals from bella, combined with her trademark humour and charisma. She sings of having a chaotic life where nothing goes right to the point of losing her mind, but ultimately finds the positives: ‘It’s fucked, but it could be worse’.
The release of the single comes off the back of amor supporting American superstar Benson Boone on his recent sold out tour, which wrapped up last night at the Australian Open. It is the latest high point in amor’s burgeoning career which kicked off in 2022 with the single ‘can’t get laid’. The same year she sold out her debut headline show and has gone on to perform at BIGSOUND, Grapevine Gathering and Groovin’ The Moo, as well as support slots for King Stingray and Lime Cordiale.
amor has quickly built up a fanbase in a short period of time thanks to her honest, relatable music that speaks to her generation with a unique blend of vulnerability and a wicked sense of humour. Her return to releasing music is a joy and this new era in her music is going to be a highlight of 2025.
‘rocks in my pocket’ is out now via Sony Music Australia. You can buy and stream here.
