Starley releases new single and video 'Lovers + Strangers'
Australian singer-songwriter Starley has released a new single and music video ‘Lovers + Strangers’. Her first single since last year’s ‘Signs’, ‘Lovers + Strangers’ is a smooth, summery R&B-electronica crossover track with lyrics that explores the disconnection that occurs when a relationship ends - someone you knew so intimately gradually becomes a stranger: “Used to know you better than I know myself / You look familiar but it's clear you're someone else,” Starley sings.
The track was produced by Swedish duo NOTD and mixed by Tom Norris, who also worked on Zedd’s 'The Middle' & Katy's Perry's 'Never Really Over', with the video shot in LA by Millicent Hailes switching between a loved up group picnic in a park which slowly turns sour, and Starley alone at sunset in front of the LA skyline.
Starley first shot to fame in 2016 with the worldwide smash ‘Call On Me’ which hit number one in Sweden and reached the top 10 in Australia, the UK, Germany, Ireland amongst many, racking up 1 billion streams in the process. Starley’s upcoming debut album is due for release in early 2020.
