Mimi Webb releases new single 'Red Flags' ahead of debut album 'Amelia'
The UK’s emerging pop superstar Mimi Webb is back today with the release of her new single ‘Red Flags’. The single comes just one day after Webb received her first ever BRIT Award nomination, in the Best New Talent category.
‘Red Flags’ follows the hit singles ‘House On Fire’ and ‘Ghost Of You’ in their dance pop vein. Pared back verses burst into jittery, beat heavy choruses with delicious pop melodies that quickly sweep you away. In the lyrics Webb sings of being in a relationship where you know everything is wrong but you can’t stay away. “A million reasons, should be leaving / I need more hands to count all the issues…I see the signs but I still come back,” she sings.
‘Red Flags’ features on Webb’s highly anticipated debut album, Amelia, which will be released on 3 March. “This is something I’ve been working on for a very long time and everything I’ve been doing has lead to this very moment!,” Webb said last year. “This album is the best version of me and I want you all to accept vulnerability without judgement while you listen to this record.”
Webb has become one of the UK’s biggest new talents since exploding onto the scene at the beginning of 2020. She has achieved global hit singles in the form of ‘Good Without’ and ‘Dumb Love’ and her music, that can range from powerful, emotional ballads to electropop dancefloor gems, coupled with her stunning, husky voice, has seen her draw critical acclaim from across the world. With 730 million streams to date, she has everything it takes to become one of music’s global superstars in the coming years, with the release of Amelia ensuring 2023 will be her biggest year yet.
