Australian pop sensation Peach PRC today drops her new single and video ‘Time Of My Life

Written by Peach with esteemed duo DNA (Dami Im, Jessica Mauboy) and frequent collaborator Liam Quinn, and produced by Liam and DNA, the track is an energetic synthpop track mixed with a thumping rock beat. Lyrically it looks back at youth and all the mistakes that are a part of growing up, with Peach adding in a tinge of melancholy as she sings of the perhaps questionable behaviour, but how it made her feel utterly alive. ‘It was dumb / It was stupid, it was fun…Soon I'll forget what it's like / A blip in the line / But falling apart was the time of my life,’ she sings.

Also out today is the music video for ‘Time Of My Life’. Directed by Josh Harris, who was behind her breakout hit ‘Josh’ and also last year’s ‘Like A Girl Does’, Peach wrote the treatment, made the outfits and designed all the details, working with Harris to bring her vision to life. Featuring multiple characters, storylines and endings, the video is set in a prison after Peach is arrested for an unknown crime and sees relationships develop, violent fights break out and a provocative strip search.

“This is my third time collaborating with Peach, and her unique vision never fails to inspire,” Harris says. “The initial idea was to blend the visual aesthetic of a gritty women's prison with Peach's own unique style. ‘Time of My Life’ is about reflecting on a chaotic past with a sense of fondness or nostalgia, and Peach's performance, staying lost in her own world while everything erupts around her, reflects this. I'm proud of the cast and crew who worked on this project - they really poured their hearts into it - and their creativity and hard work has brought it to life”.

Peach today also announces she will be performing her Secret PRC show at headline show Electric Brixton in London on October 4th, followed by an appearance at Rolling Sets Festival in Memorial Park, Queensland, in December.

With over 220 million streams and 2 billion socials views, Peach PRC is nothing short of a global phenomenon, even more so when considering her breakthrough hit ‘Josh’ was only released in 2021. Last year she released her debut EP Manic Dream Pixie which hit number 1 on the Australian albums chart, with a deluxe version released earlier this year. ‘Time Of My Life’ follows February’s glossy synth tune ‘Secret’ and May’s heartfelt electro-ballad ‘Touchy Subject’.

‘Time Of My Life’ is out now via Island Records Australia and Republic Records. You can buy and stream here.
