Superstar Tate McRae today releases her new single ‘2 hands’ and announces her third studio album So Close To What will be released in February.

Written by McRae with major songwriters Amy Allen (Sabrina Carpenter, Oliva Rodrigo), Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic, Blackpink) and Lostboy (Rita Ora, Freya Ridings) ‘2 hands’ is a addictive track that blends pop and R&B with Middle Eastern beats and a chorus that slips into delicious melodies with a subtle synth backing. Lyrically McRae sings of a relationship where endless talk is not needed, just physical connection. ‘You don't need to tell me you love me seventeen times in a day…I just want your two hands on me / At all times baby,’ she sings.

Alongside the release of ‘2 Hands’ McRae today also announces her third studio album So Close To What will be released on February 21 next year. It will feature ‘2 hands’ and also the first single from the album, ‘It’s ok I’m ok’ which hit the top 20 in Australia, the UK and US and have accumulated over 100 million Spotify streams.

Following the release of So Close To What McRae will embark on her 50-show Miss Possessive world tour which will kick off in Mexico in March followed by performances across South America, Europe, the UK and North America, wrapping up in Inglewood US on September 26. The tour will also include performances at festivals including Lolapalooza.

Already one of the world’s biggest young talents. McRae just gets bigger and better with every release and based on the strength of her recent singles, that shows no sign of stopping into 2025.

‘2 hands’ is out now via RCA Records/Sony Music Australia. You can buy and stream here.
