HANNI releases new single 'See Through'
Brisbane singer-songwriter HANNI today releases her new single ‘See Through’, her first release since March’s ‘Undermine’ it comes off the back of her performing two showcases at this year’s BIGSOUND.
Produced by Thomas Porter and co-written with Hannah Brewer, ‘See Through’ is a gorgeous track that takes you on an invigorating sonic journey. Starting with gentle guitar, it explodes into bursts of hard rock in the pre-chorus before sliding into the most deliciously scandipop-inflected chorus with melodies to die for. Lyrically the song explores the concept of struggling to open up to a new relationship after escaping a toxic one.
“It’s about letting myself be vulnerable to someone new, someone who sees the real me and loves me regardless,” HANNI says. “For so long I had just stayed in a relationship that had turned sour because that is what I thought I deserved, and this song is a reminder that there is someone out there that loves every part of you - even when you feel see through”
HANNI first released music as an independent artist in 2019 with the single ‘Wired’. Her career took off almost immediately with the song winning a Queensland Music Award in 2020. In October that year her fourth single ‘Golden Eyes’ was chosen to feature on the BBC Sound The Best New Pop playlist, which resulted in it being streamed over four million times. This year she signed with major label Universal Music imprint Dew Process.
Creating lush electronic-synth-indie pop HANNI is a remarkable new talent, with a special ability to create meaningful, intimate, confessional music that also allows you to drown in some absolutely joyful and mesmerising melodies. A singer that has everything it takes to make a serious impression in the music industry, she is an artist to have on your radar right now.
