Australian singer-songwriter Jack River (real name Holly Rankin) today releases her new single 'Limo Song' from her forthcoming debut album Sugar Mountain (released June 22).
"'Limo Song' is one of my favourite songs on the album," Rankin recently told Women In Pop. "It has a lot of heart and the lyrics are quite simple but they paint a bigger picture." Inspiration for the song came from a early 2000's TV classic. "It's set in The OC in my head," Rankin laughs. "It's influenced by the soundtrack which was a big part of my growing up and how I learnt about so many bands."
The music video has also been released today and is another brilliant piece of art born of the creative partnership between Holly Rankin (Jack River) and director Matt Sav. Set in a milk bar, a mixture of love and lust amongst Rankin's customers soon causes havoc.
Jack River has also announced a headline national tour will kick off in September in support of the Sugar Mountain album. With shows in Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth, Newcastle, Sydney and Brisbane, tickets go on sale Monday 4 June at 10am.
You can download 'Limo Song' now on iTunes or stream on Spotify.
